At times, some of the posts were found inappropriate by the moral police and as a result, we are not able to access her blog directly within UAE. Undeterred, she continues to write - though less frequently - and one can read her blog thru a feed-reader or google reader.
A recent post however, started me thinking all over again - is it blogging, journalism, or sensationalism which she is doing these days? Consider this quote below appearing in a UK newspaper, which SD chose to excerpt in her post. The quote is from a lawyer turned hooker named Paige Ashley:
"My biggest one-off job was with three Arab businessmen at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi," she said. "It's a seven-star hotel and everything is decked out in gold leaf. They paid me £20,000 for one night with all of them. By morning I was exhausted”.Most likely the intent was to convey that Arab businessmen would go to any extent to sleep with a western woman - which indeed does reflect upon the society’s scum that need to be questioned upon and cleared. It also perhaps highlights the stereotypes held by the Arabs...
But then, what does a neutral person might also infer from the post? Here are some possibilities:
- Many western women seek Dubai as mecca of “prostitution behind the veil”?
- Best income solution for unsuccessful British career women during recession (or for that matter any time) is to get into sophisticated call-girl racket?
- Arabs welcome western (e.g. British) women expats in UAE /GCC with the one-track objective of getting them to bed in order to improve their own status?
- Many British women are opting for sex / flesh trade in GCC in order to live a normal respectable life elsewhere? (I heard of a similar situation applicable for East Europeans way back in 2001 – many of whom are well placed in top positions in some companies today)?
- If you want to make a fast buck in UAE – escorting /or flesh trade is the best solution!
It would be interesting to know the reactions of fellow young Arabs on this issue – especially since they are inheriting one of the fastest growing young nations in recent times.

Firstly, the piece you've quoted from SD's post is taken from a UK tabloid newspaper. The hooker featured in the story talked about the money she's making and included the comment about Emirates Palace and Arab clients.
It's all the lurid, sensationalist stuff the British tabloids and their readers love.
Sad to say it's also the type of story that SD has been cherry picking to post for some time now.
Interesting objective views on the article. I thought it was a shameful article, and it only reflects the general public's insane desire for sleaze and slander. Why has this woman and her lifestyle of sex for money been glamorized in this article, and why is Secret Dubai trolling the webs searching for any and all negative Dubai references. Did anyone confirm this women's stories? Can it be true? I am guessing not.

It's a trashy, misogynistic piece of crap that only passes as an 'article' in a British tabloid.
Arab men dont PREFER western women. The most expensive call girls in Dubai are Lebanese/Syrian. How do we know this? They end up geing given UAE citizenship for fucking so and so.
But western women are EASY to get into bed. Plain and simple. It isnt about status, a car does that. t isnt about preference. A horny guy wants to fuck, and the blonde over there is much much much more willing to give it up than Ameera.
Simple.

After all, isn't everything we all prostitute ourselves for on a daily basis about money? So, why the sudden incline in your offendometer?
And this current debacle applies not only to Arabs but in general to all, irrespective of their ethnicity. Those, that are stinking rich and don't know how to make use of this thing we call; money, wealth, cash, tender, etc.
Now, if you or anyone feels that SD's write-up stereotypes only Arabs, then I'd say you and them need a reality check in addition to getting your heads examined, see a shrink or take it out on a bag.
Lastly, approve this comment or not but what's written above is hard cold fact, which you may take any which way you like it!
In the past, SD has written some great stuff but this was a case of her taking delight in making the UAE look bad.
Another possible motive: isn't there some degree of self-flattery in her posting an article saying Arab men paid exhorbitant amounts for a western women? This is western-preference thing is a myth: Arab men love ALL women.
The prostitution issue is real and very ugly. Let's hope it's exposed by a legitimate news source.
